Winter boots!

Each year I try and invest in two new pairs of boots...my intention is always to purchase one brown pair and one black pair, however I always seem to get too tempted by the black boots and a brown pair never seems to make it into my wardrobe. However this year I was determined they would be my first winter purchase and I have succeeded! I introduce POKE from Dune.

They are the perfect brown ankle boots which I have been wearing, pretty much, every day since I purchased them. They go perfectly with skirts, dresses and trousers. At £89.00 I thought they were great value for money.

So now the hunt for my black boots begins...they three are on the short list each at a different price range...

I don't usually shop in River Island however after visiting their website to admire a skirt I had seen on South Molton Street Style's blog I discovered these beauties, a bargain at £60.00

I love the zipper detail on these POZ boots also from Dune at £89.00

I'm always partial to a bit of patient and I am yet to own a pair of iconic Chelsea boots, so the CADOGAN from Russell and Bromley are high up the wish list at £195.00 - if the budget allowed I think I would own them in every colour and material!

And finally these Chloe boots available at Net-a-Porter have made it onto my wish list...I can dream can't I?!
Decisions, decisions!

Formal Mondays

My work dress code is smart casual (no jeans) so I am quite lucky that I can be quite creative with what I want to wear. However, I always seem to find myself making an extra effort to be smart on a Monday, perhaps this is because I have more time to consider what to wear - when the work thoughts start to creep into my mind from 5.00p.m. on a Sunday or perhaps it's because I am usually feeling tired from a busy weekend and hope a smart outfit will distract from the dark circles under my eyes?!

Either way, I am declaring Mondays, Formal Mondays on the blog. This week focus is skirts. I go through phases with my wardrobe where a buy lots of one particular item as I suddenly discover I am lacking in that department. Last month it was trousers, this month I have noticed I am particularly lacking in the skirts department. With the weather having changed all of a sudden I want to wear chunky knits, skirts and ankle boots.

I therefore need to up my collection and have started with a classic, a navy mini, at £19.99 in the Gap sale I couldn't resist. They don't have many sizes left online and the price is more expensive than I paid in store, so I'd recommend visiting your nearest shop.

There are some great sales on at the moment and I have selected a few of my favourite skirts available online:

Welcome - My First Post!

Hey,

So I've been waiting around for things in my life to change for a little while now and it's finally dawned on me that I need to make some changes first!

I've fallen out of love with a lots of things in my life recently (thankfully my Fiancé not being one of them) and I'm trying to fall back in love. So my first step is to do something I have been considering for some time, over three years to be precise, and set up a blog.

I define myself as a runner, not so much the physical exercise type, more the...I like to run away when I am bored or unhappy. I've lived in London for nearly three years now and unfortunately I am slowly feeling the need 'to run', from London, work and life in general. I follow lots of blogs and I am hoping writing my own and sharing some of the fun things I enjoy in lmy London life...eating out and shopping predominantly, it may stop my need to run and make me fall in love with certain things again!

I'm new to blogging so any support and/or criticism (I always see it as constructive) will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ash
